Death Star Cake

This cake is for a Star Wars themed baby shower! It is a ten inch diameter sphere, top half chocolate cake, bottom half rice krispie, that floats in mid air!!!

I took my inspiration for this cake from concept art for 'A New Hope' and this cake.

Making the Death Star

'The Death Star will be completed on schedule.'

The various stages of a floating sphere cake.

The Base

The Bottom Half
Shaving the cake to a half sphere
Making sure it's a perfect circle.
Cover both spheres in fondant, make sure its still a sphere.
Cut pieces of fondant and attach to both half spheres.
Don't forget to scoop out some cake to make the planet destroying laser dish!
Add some pearl dust in silver.

Add some detail.
Add some sprinkles and whatever else you like.
Now both your half spheres are done!
Last step attach them with some icing and put a ribbon round the middle for a trench.

Simple Floral Cake

I was pretty much caked out when I made my sister's cake for her family party. So it's very simple.

Polka Dot Cake

My mother's friend asked me to make a polka dot cake for her son's birthday. She wanted it very simple on the outside, and to be a white cake, with blue and green polka dots.

She forgot to take pictures of the inside while they were eating it, but it would have looked something like the practice cake I made that is the same except with pink and purple dots.

Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

This is the cake I made for my sisters birthday with her friends. It was at the movie theatre, so I wanted to make something that didn't require much clean up.
